All Brighton Area School district students (grades 5 - 12) have access to GoogleApps through BAS Student Google Services. GoogleApps includes school Gmail, contacts, calendar, and Google Drive (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, forms and draw programs). We use our student and teacher online tools for communication, collaboration, and document storage. All of these tools are housed on the Internet and can be accessed from any Internet-connected computer, iPad, tablet computer or smart phone. No special software is required. GoogleApps are provided free to our district by Google.

Parents received an email with their child's username and password. Students cannot change these usernames and passwords. Check with your classroom teacher or the Media Center if you have forgotten your account information.

- to give our students practice in using current technology applications and tools used in thousands of school districts and over 60% of colleges and universities
- to give students the ability to work on common, no-cost tools on their own documents both at school and outside of school
- to facilitate "paperless" transfer of work between students and teachers
- to provide adequate long-term, online storage space for student work at no cost to our district
- to help students work collaboratively on group projects, engage in peer-editing of documents, and publish for a wider audience
